Pierre's Last Stand

Alas, it is time to say goodbye to Ann Arbor. T minus 8 hours and I should be on my way to New York. *Sigh*

Since today was my last day in Ann Arbor, I tied up a few loose ends. I went to the bank to close my account, made reservations for a final dinner at Charley's, bought my final Jimmy John's sandwich (#2), and had my last cup of Taro Milk Tea with black bubbles from Bubble Island. You know what sucks though? I did a lot of "last time" things but didn't even realize that it was my "last" until a while later. For example, I had dinner at China Gate, the worlds fastest Chinese cuisine restaraunt, for the last time with JB yesterday. But at the time, I didn't think of it as my LAST dinner at China Gate because I still had another day left. But since I didn't eat there today, that meant that that was the LAST time I'd eat there. And a month or so ago, I ate U Cafe for my LAST time. Of course, I didn't realize that it was my last time eating there because I thought that I would probably eat there again- but I didn't. Because I didn't realize that it was my last time eating at U Cafe or China Gate, I didn't fully take in the experience as if it was my LAST. I just nonchalantly ate there, paid, and left. So with my last Jimmy John's and Taro Bubble Tea, I made sure that I fully understood that it was my last time eating those things, and thoroughly enjoyed it until the last bite/drop.

Anyhow, I made reservations for 10 at Charley's for my final dinner in Ann Arbor. Prior to these reservations, I emailed the entire Asian Community inviting them to eat with me at Charley's. So by the end of the night, about 20 or so people came out to break bread with me, share in my last Ann Arbor dinner experience, and say their goodbyes. It was nice just to see people from all over come together. We had the dancers in one corner, APA Activists in the other, Harvest Christians to their left, Volleyball crew to their right, and then there was Tyra. It felt really good to see everybody again before I left. THanks to everybody that came! =)

to SHao, Poon, and Elena: Thanks for dropping by to say goodbye. We actually had some DDT-ing (refer to below entry) going on which was cool as hell. Enjoy your last years here cause before you know it, you'll be writing sappy, depressing, blog entries like me.

So the next time I write an entry, I'll be sitting in my basement in NYC. Strange.

Goodbye University of Michigan- Ann Arbor. You treated me well, taught me a lot of things about life and about myself. You gave me great memories to look back on, and great friends to rely on. Thanks.

So long, farewell...
