So there's this guy on my bus every morning. After the bus he gets on the same train. After the train he gets off at the same stop and transfers to another train...mine. He sits in the same car and he gets off at the same stop. After that, he walks the same direction out of the station and to the same building as me. There are three different elevator sections and of course, he gets into the same elevator. Finally, he gets off a different floor.
This goes on pretty much every single day. And there's a part of me that says that I should talk to him and be like, "yo, we take the same bus, train, and work at the same company...cool." But should I risk it?
"Risk? What risk?"
If I open lines of communications with this dude, then every single morning I will be forced by the laws of cordiality to say, "Yo, what's up man?". And with that one phrase comes other phrases and comments strung together to create something that will keep me from my daily morning naps- a CONVERSATION. Now the naps I take on the train are crucial. It's my time to catch up on some lost sleep, relax, and mentally prepare for the workday ahead. If I have to talk to this guy every morning, when am I going to sleep? And once we know each other, it's not like we can not talk to each other or sit with each other on the train, that'll just be awkward. I might have to start avoiding him in the morning just to get some naps in!
That's it, I've decided. I'm not saying anything. Sleep is more important than future relationships and networking.
