So I forgot to blog yesterday. I was too busy looking up old school music videos on Launch.com. Twisted Sister, Devo, A-Ha, Madonna, Janet...all videos I watched while rotting away in my office chair.

Have you ever gotten salads for lunch? We have a cafeteria downstairs and a popular area is the salad bar. People load up on their cucumbers, grilled chicken, lettuce, carrots, and whatever else their heart desires. I don't normally get a salad. But when I do, I usually just get a bunch of Caesar salad, some grilled chicken, and that's it. Plain and simple grilled chicken caesar. After I get my food and head back upstairs, there are usually a bunch of people carrying their own cafeteria lunches back up to their desks. So I'm in the elevator, standing there, and I can't help but look at people's food! The funny thing is, you wouldn't believe what people put in their salads! It seems like putting a salad together has become a form of artistic expression. The salads vary in color, size, depth, and nutritional value. Some salads start off with lettuce, then comes the slices of carrots sprinkled around the edges for some color, then some eggs, another layer of romane lettuce, italian dressing in the center, and an assortment of nuts to top it all off. With a salad like that, I'd be proud of it too. But that's just a normal salad. Others I've seen are so extravagent and complex, I wouldn't even want to eat it. Then there are others that are filled with chicken, baco-bits, croutons, eggs, and drenched in dressing, making even the healthy lunch as unhealthy as possible. Maybe one day I'll attempt to throw together a mean salad and just let it sit on my desk for all to see and praise.
