"all RIGHT mom, i'll grow my hair back...sheesh"

THese words came out of my mouth a couple weeks ago in response to my mother's constant nagging over how i looked. I was bald and had a goatee. To my mother, i looked like an old Chinese man (??). Maybe if only the front HALF of my head was bald and the back i had a long braided ponytail, THEN i'd look like an old school CHinese Kung-Fu Master. But i don't, and the "new" image of Pierre that i created in Thailand last summer was new, (and coupled with a thumbring) edgy, mature, and stylish...so i thought.

There were many reasons why i shaved my head. When asked "why?", i would quote from "Clueless" and say, "i'm keepin' it real...cause i'm KEEPIN' IT REAL!" I also just wanted to CHANGE. Since my sophomore year in HS, i've had short, spikey hair (I sometimes convince myself that i was the first to bring back the ASIAN SPIKES from the 80's, but my social influence and PULL back in sophomore year was anything BUT influential). This new Spikes Style swept through the asian community unlike anything else since the classic "middle part-long bangs" style of the mid-90s. But after 5 years i said, "ENOUGH!!" It was then that i chose to go aerodynamic, sleek, and smooth. Afterwards I felt like a new person ...with a new urge to play basketball again (you ballers out there would understand). Not only was having no hair convenient, but it was economical too. No more $15 haircuts from "stylists", just me and my $10 clippers with no gaurd.

Well it has been a year since i went Q-ball- a year full of criticisms, compliments, and apathy. But alas, maternal pressure has brokendown my "rebellious" tendencies and i have decided to grow back my hair. Now my mom can see her baby at graduation WITH hair...her dream come true.

So what's next for my hair? Middle part, long bangs? Spikes? fro? dreds? The list is endless which is why many hours and hours of contemplation will go into this decision. And you thought finding the next Dalai Lama was hard....

Note: To all of you who care, my comment page has been changed thanks to my man Jon Yang. Even though i really didn't give two apple pies about the colors on my comment page, i must thanks Jon for spending the time to change it. Thanks, Jon.
