"IT HAS BEGUN..." (<--name that movie)
As of today, Spring Term officially kicked off its first day of classes. Oddly enough, it seemed like any other day of classes.
After driving my friends Pat and SOoho to the brand new Detroit MacNamara airport terminal and sending them off to Thailand and Korea, i took a quick nap before class. Having stayed up the night before, that 30 minute nap didn't do me much good. And as usual, as my timex indiglo clocked flashed 8:55am, bad bad thoughts started running through my head...
"Do i REALLY need to go to the first lecture of 401? She's just gonna talk about logistical stuff about the course anyway. I've taken the course before, making me somewhat experienced in the material. And it's just the first day, i won't be missing any of the difficult stuff. I would just fall asleep anyway....yeah, i can just miss the first day....it's all to the good." Then the wonderful voice of reason, coming in the from of a half concious Brian Babb, chimed in and said, "if that class got a waitlist, you better get there or else they might drop you."
Hearing that, I grabbed my books, gave myself a look, and went to class.
Like i said earlier, today was just like any other day of classes. Since my first class started at 9am, not many people were around on the diag. It was a bright sunny day, but there was a strong breeze that would bring chills to anybody that got fooled into wearing shorts and a tshirt. Luckily enough, my wardrobe has shrunk so much that not even fabreeze was enough to de-stankize my clothes. As result, i only had my ECASU pants and my Michigan hoodie sweatshirt keeping me warm.
A 5 minute walk got me to my class. I sat there with Jason beside me, and guess what....I fell ASLEEP.
Like i said, today was just like any other day of classes.
